about

I couldn't sleep one night, so I got up and wrote these lyrics down. It was exactly what I was feeling at the time, wrote it in about 10 minutes. Added the music the next night. The title is based on a chapter of the Dalai Lama's book I was reading at the time.

lyrics

Night & I can't sleep
Obsessing on things I can't control
Things that aren't going the way
That I thought they would today
You start to question yourself
And wonder where it all went so wrong
So when morning comes again
It's a relief to get out of bed & go to work

& work & work & work & work

At least then you have something to do
Somewhere to go, someone to be
There is some small measure of relief
In going thru the motions
There is some small measure of relief in going thru the motions
