about

Some of the lyrics in this one (including the title of this song) come from lines in the 1961 movie "Lover Come Back" starring Doris Day & Rock Hudson. I just jotted down lines they would say that I thought were interesting and then turned them into a slightly Orwellian song.

lyrics

Human Satellite (Ode to Doris Day)

Human satellite flying high above the clouds
With the stars at my back looking down on everything
Lover come back kissings easier than dancing
V.I.P. Omg there's nowhere I can't see

A Human Satellite flying high above you
Just a Human Satellite launched out into space

Communication observation maybe even retaliation
On the internet don't forget we're recording everything
In your apartment all alone you suppose
Nobel Prize of surprise launching me into space, outer space
Outer space, into space ooohhh

I'm a Human satellite flying high above you
Just a Human satellite dancing with the drones
Watching over everyone
Oh so lonely
Oh so lonely
Oh so lonely
